I got a coffee plant as a gift but im not sure how often to water it? does it need sunlight?

Coffee plants need bright, indirect light. I%26#039;ve had luck having mine in a Southern Window all year round. They also need a thorough watering once a week. (Through=water coming out the bottom and drained from plant 5-10 min after watering.) *You can fertilize if you wish once a month from March through Oct. Do not fertilize from Oct-Feb. as the plant needs a dormant season during the winter.

*This applies to any species of houseplant

Normally, the coffee plant is exposed to sunlight quite a bit, seeing that it is from south america. so, water it once a week, since it is from an arrid climate, sunlight would be the best thing to provide for this plant.
Reply:It probably depends on the variety. Coffee is grown in different climates throughout the world.
