What plant would be a suitable gift?

My sis-in-law in Tampa, Florida gave birth to my niece last night!

I would like to send a plant that will grow as my baby niece grows that they can keep in a pot until August and then perhaps plant in the garden. I would prefer a plant that will flower and can survive the changeable Tampa climate.

THANKS FOR YOUR KIND ADVICE

What plant would be a suitable gift?
I think a mixture of flowers but deffinately put daisys in there and prob tulips i don%26#039;t know u pick!
Reply:Tulips.
Reply:How about a Tree?
Reply:You won%26#039;t be able to keep these in a pot but...

How about a Magnolia Tree or a flowering Dogwood Tree

An azelia bush.....azelia ...I can%26#039;t spell sorry.
Reply:I would suggest an orchid, a friend bought me one when I was sick, I%26#039;ve had it for over 3 months now and its still going strong no matter what the weather conditions. It only needs watering once a week and looks beautiful in my living room
Reply:get real and look to your nieces future( show you care AND are smart too) a rotating CD will send her to collage!!!!

You start one--interest goes back into the cd--renews itself every six or nine months--can not be cashed in untill she is 18--every special occasion anyone can deposit more money into it!!!
Reply:a plant?! are trying to see which one can grow faster? trust me, the plant will win
Reply:I most certainly believe the divine MARTHA STEWART can help you a lot there! :-D
Reply:grass
Reply:How about a tree? That%26#039;s what I%26#039;m gonna do when I have my first child - IF I have children; and IF I get married; and IF I find THE ONE; IF I ever decide to look.

I believe trees last longer than plants.
Reply:roses
